It is hard to believe that we are already half way through the month of November and Christmas is right around the corner. There are so many things I love about the Christmas season, but mostly I love a cozy home!

I recently took a trip to my local Christmas Tree Shops. They have an amazing selection of holiday décor at unbelievable prices. CTS has so many different styles, such as Traditional, Cozy with Country, Everything Emerald, Winter White, Retro Wonderland, Bright This Way and Jingle Shells.
One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is decorating my home. However, I sometimes wonder if I enjoy shopping more for the décor! It is always so fun and I get so much inspiration from walking around the store. This year I decided on all new décor for my family room fireplace mantle. I wanted a rustic country feel so that is what I set out to find.
As I walked around my local Christmas Tree Shops, I was very intrigued with the layout and all of the items. This beautiful “Tis the Season” sign caught my eye and I couldn’t believe the amazing price. I filled my cart with garlands, natural sisal deer, snowman, rustic trees, bells, ornaments, throw pillows, cozy blankets and a set of three wood looking flameless candles. I even managed to buy twelve of these beautiful rustic deer plates for my Christmas tablescape.
Four Tips for Styling a Mantel
A fireplace mantle is usually the focal point of a room and one of my very favorite things to decorate for Christmas! Here are a few tips I like to keep in mind while I shop.
- Choose a large object that will be the focal point such as a mirror, sign or artwork. Personally, I like the look of layered signs.
- You will next want to choose objects for the right and left sides. I like to use identical items but they don’t need to be. Just be sure they are similar in size.
- Next, you’ll want to choose filler objects. You can vary the height of these items. Choose items that are smaller than the objects on the right and left side.
- Be sure to use a cohesive theme to tie it all together!
Christmas Tree Shops has a great selection of throw pillows and cozy throws. This tree farm pillow is so cozy and I love the added jingle bells on the pillow. If there is any time of year to fill up your couch with throw pillows, this would be it! You can toss them on top of baskets filled with throw blankets or place them on a chair! There are so many different ways to decorate with throw pillows.
